High-Protein Comfort Food Remakes: Because We Still Want the Good Stuff
Okay, let’s be real…
I LOVE comfort food.
Give me creamy pasta, mac & cheese, chicken pot pie, mashed potatoes… I am there.
But I also want to feel good after I eat it — and I definitely want my meals to keep me full!
So instead of saying “you can’t have that,” I’m more into saying…
“Okay… how can we make it better?”
That’s where the high-protein comfort food remakes come in!
We’re keeping the foods we LOVE, but giving them a little Kozy makeover.
First Up: Creamy Garlic Chicken Pasta
This one is SO good.
You get that creamy, cheesy pasta situation we all crave, but we’re adding plenty of chicken and using Greek yogurt to make the sauce creamy while sneaking in some extra protein.
And honestly?
You don’t even have to make it complicated.
Chicken + pasta + garlic + Parmesan + Greek yogurt + a few seasonings.
DONE.
That’s the kind of meal I want — easy, comforting, filling, and actually something I’m excited to eat.
And We HAVE to Talk About Mac & Cheese
Because I refuse to believe that eating high-protein means giving up mac & cheese.
Use a higher-protein pasta, add some blended cottage cheese into your cheese sauce, throw in some shredded chicken…
And BOOM.
Protein mac & cheese.
Is it exactly the same as your grandma’s recipe?
Maybe not.
But is it cheesy, creamy, comforting, and delicious?
ABSOLUTELY.
Then There’s Chicken Pot Pie…
Tell me chicken pot pie isn’t basically a hug in food form.
Warm chicken, veggies, creamy filling, flaky crust…
YES PLEASE.
For a higher-protein version, just load it up with chicken and make a lighter creamy filling using chicken broth and Greek yogurt.
You still get all those cozy flavors without feeling like you need a nap immediately afterward.
KOZY RECIPE OF THE DAY
Creamy High-Protein Garlic Chicken Pasta
This is one of those recipes where you can basically throw everything together and call it dinner.
What You’ll Need:
1 lb chicken breast
12 oz high-protein pasta
1 cup plain Greek yogurt
½ cup Parmesan
3 cloves garlic
1 cup spinach
¾ cup pasta water
1 tbsp olive oil
Italian seasoning
Garlic powder
Salt & pepper
Red pepper flakes if you like a little kick
Let’s Make It!
1. Cook your pasta.Make your pasta according to the package. SAVE some of that pasta water before draining it. Trust me!
2. Cook your chicken.Season it up and cook it in a little olive oil until it’s golden and cooked through. Then chop it up.
3. Make the sauce.Sauté your garlic, turn the heat down, and add your Greek yogurt, Parmesan, and some pasta water.
Stir it until it’s nice and creamy.
4. Add everything together.Throw in your pasta, chicken, and spinach.
Give it a good mix.
Add a little more pasta water if you want it extra creamy.
5. Add your toppings.More Parmesan? YES.
Black pepper? YES.
Red pepper flakes? EVEN BETTER.
And that’s it!
You’ve got a creamy, cozy, high-protein dinner without spending three hours in the kitchen.
THE KOZY TAKE
Here’s the thing…
I don’t want healthy eating to feel miserable.
I don’t want people thinking they have to eat boring chicken and broccoli every single day just because they’re trying to make healthier choices.
You can still eat the foods you love.
Sometimes you just have to get a little creative with them.
That’s exactly the kind of thinking I want KozyEatz to bring to the table.
Comfort food. Convenience. Protein. Flavor.
All without making you feel like you’re sacrificing the foods you actually enjoy.
Because life is too short for boring meals.
KOOL KOZY FACT OF THE DAY
Did you know protein can help you feel fuller for longer?
That’s one reason I’m such a fan of adding protein to comfort-food favorites.
So instead of saying goodbye to your favorite meals…
let’s give them a little protein-packed Kozy makeover.
Until next time…
Stay hungry. Stay Kozy. And PLEASE keep the mac & cheese.
